Since its founding in 2021, Setzer Racing and Development has worked with a number of talented young drivers who have gone on to race at higher levels. Some of the standout names include:

Team Bio
Founded in 2021 by Brandon Setzer with the guidance of his father, Dennis Setzer, a former NASCAR Truck Series driver, Setzer Racing and Development helps young drivers grow their skills and move up in racing.
We provide fast, reliable race cars and one-on-one coaching to teach driving techniques, race strategy, and the right way to carry yourself in the sport. More than just speed, we focus on building well-rounded drivers who are prepared for the next level.

2017 Cars Tour Super Late model Owners Champion
Setzer Racing captured the 2017 CARS Tour Super Late Model Owners Championship, a season-long testament to consistency and speed. Powered by Brandon Setzer’s winning runs and relentless podium pace, the No. 6 team earned top owner honors through meticulous prep, sharp strategy, and execution week after week.
2022 Cars Tour Pro Late model Owners Champion
Setzer Racing & Development established itself as a powerhouse in the inaugural 2022 CARS Tour Pro Late Model season, scoring multiple wins with William Sawalich and contending at the front all year. Precision prep, sharp strategy, and race-winning speed made the No. 6 one of the most feared entries in the Mid-Atlantic.
2023 CPLMS Pro Late Model Champion
Setzer Racing and Development clinched the 2023 Carolina Pro Late Model Series (CPLMS) championship with driver George Phillips, capping a breakout season highlighted by six wins and front-running consistency across the tour. The title underscores SRD’s prep, strategy, and race-winning speed throughout 2023.

Setzer Racing has amassed over 30 late model victories, a testament to relentless preparation, smart strategy, and front-running speed. From short-track sprints to tour stops across the Southeast, the team’s attention to chassis detail and driver development keeps them in victory lane and in the hunt for championships year after year.
2025 current Cars Tour Points Leader with driver Ben Maier
Setzer Racing & Development is the current 2025 zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Model points leader with driver Ben Maier in the No. 6M. Powered by a consistency-first season of top-five and top-ten finishes, Maier sits P1 in the PLM championship battle as of September 13, 2025, underscoring the team’s pace and execution. Ben hopes to finish the season strong.
2025 current Saps Tour Points Leader with driver Mason Walters
Driver Mason Walters is the current 2025 South Atlantic Pro Series (SAPS) Pro Late Model points leader, sitting P1 with 295 points (four wins) as of September 19, 2025—setting the pace in the No. 61 heading toward the series’ Championship Night on October 25, 2025.
